The software industry is booming - also in Switzerland. At the same time, platforms are beginning to play a key role in the software businesses. Against this background, we conduct three research projects related to the software industry and software platforms. The first project deals with the division of labor between software companies in so-called software platform ecosystems. The second project, the Swiss Software Industry Survey (SSIS), exclusively deals with the analysis of the Swiss software industry. The third project examines how the use of Platform-as-a-Service (i.e., of cloud-based development environments) changes collaboration in software development teams.
